THE APPOINTMENT OF NEW CEO MR. ALESSANDRO D’ORIA

Tirana, September 9th, 2021 Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Albania is pleased to announce the appointment of Alessandro D’Oria as the new Chief Executive Officer, effective from August 30, 2021. This appointment was approved from the Board of Directors Meeting of April 20, 2021 and Bank of Albania on August 30, 2021.

The new appointed CEO, Mr. Alessandro D’Oria, will succeed the former CEO, Mr. Silvio Pedrazzi, who has decided to retire after holding the position of CEO in the Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Albania for eight consecutive years. Under the direction of Mr. Silvio Pedrazzi, significant achievements were marked which have further consolidated the position of the Bank as the fourth largest within the domestic banking sector.

Mr. Alessandro D’Oria’s long experience and expertise in the Italian banking sector, in a highly competitive and complex financial market will further enhance the performance of Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Albania in the upcoming years. Mr. Alessandro D’Oria stated “I am very proud and honored for this new opportunity. I remain confident that Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Albania will continue to support the economic growth of the Country in all segments, leveraging on strong and sound position we have in terms of market share, capital, liquidity and credit quality.”  

The new appointed CEO of Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Albania comes from a long and successful experience in the banking sector. He has been part of Banca Intesa, before its merger with Sanpaolo IMI to create Intesa Sanpaolo Group. During the years 1987-1996, Mr. Alessandro D’Oria held the positions of Relationship Manager and Branch Manager in the region of Puglia whereas from 1997 until 2010 he has held various responsibilities of Area/Segment Manager in several Italian regions for Intesa Sanpaolo Group. During the period 2011-2014, Mr. Alessandro D’Oria was appointed Head of Area Puglia within the Banca dei Territori Division of Intesa Sanpaolo. Meanwhile, he held the positions of Chairman of the Regional Commission of the Italian Banking Association (ABI) for Puglia and Member of the Chamber of Commerce of Puglia for the Credit and Insurance sectors. During the period 2015-2016 he was appointed, always within the Banca dei Territori Division, as Head of Region Milan and Province - one of the seven regions of the Network of Intesa Sanpaolo Bank in Italy - and Vice Chairman of the Regional Commission of the Italian Banking Association (ABI) for Lombardy.

Further, within the International Subsidiary Bank Division of Intesa Sanpaolo, Mr. Alessandro D’Oria held the position of Head of Retail Sub-Department from 2017 to 2019 whereas in early 2020, he was appointed as Head of Retail and Wealth Management Department. Mr. Alessandro D’Oria is currently holding the position of Non-Executive Board Member, Chairman of Risk Committee and Member of Audit Committee in Bank of Alexandria, the Intesa Sanpaolo Subsidiary in Egypt.
