INTERNATIONAL CONFIRMING PLATFORM

OF INTESA SANPAOLO IS NOW OPERATIONAL ALSO IN ALBANIA

Tirana, 13 February, 2023: Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Albania is launching Confirming Platform – the Italian Supply Chain Finance Program connecting buyers and suppliers from different European countries.

Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Albania and other international banks part of the International Subsidiary Banks Division (“ISBD”) of the Intesa Sanpaolo are joining CIB Bank, Hungarian subsidiary of Intesa Sanpaolo Group, in the Confirming platform which has been already operating successfully at CIB Bank level since 2021. In this contest CIB Bank will act as ISBD’s international HUB, responsible for confirming operations in the whole region.

The Confirming Platform will provide finance and liquidity to enterprises operating within the logic of the international supply chains. The infrastructure of the confirming platform has been further developed and now it starts serving a whole Center European region where the Intesa Sanpaolo Group is present through its subsidiary banks.

In the context of the trade exchanges between 6 countries (Serbia, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Slovenia and Italy), Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Albania becomes an important partner in the cross regional commercial value chain and will offer all its enterprise clients the advantages of using this platform for their international trading activities.

The Confirming Platform is a digital leading financial solution already fully operative in Italy with more than 3.000 active clients.

The Confirming Platform which in essence is a digital factoring solution optimizes liquidity management for buyers and ensures rapid payments to suppliers. Costs related to delays are therefore reduced on both sides and the risk of non-payment from the buyers is fully covered by Intesa Sanpaolo Group. Therefore, the participation of the Bank as a partner in the chain, increases confidence not only for the suppliers but also increases buyer’s credibility.

Alessandro D’Oria, CEO of Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Albania stated: The launching of the Confirming platform comes to reinstate our commitments to achieve our business goals towards digitalization and innovation for our corporate customers. As the times we live in call for supporting the supply chains of goods and services while minimizing time-consuming processes, the confirming platform will best serve efficient and effective trading relationships between Albania and 6 other countries.”

Our commitment is to support the development of clients activities and to reach new business opportunities in the markets of Central and South Eastern Europe where we are present.” Stated Giuseppe Ferraro, Head of Corporate and SMEs of the International Subsidiary Banks Division. “Confirming goes along with a new dimension in doing international business, allowing smooth transactions and enhancing the role of cross-country value chains where large and small enterprises have all crucial roles in serving the economy.”
