Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Albania and Eurizon become the first entities to receive license from Albanian Financial Supervisory Authority to offer to Albanian citizens direct access to collective investments in the EU.

Tirana, September 21, 2023 - Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Albania, which is part of the Intesa Sanpaolo International Subsidiary Banks Division (ISBD), and Eurizon Capital S.A., the subsidiary of Eurizon Capital SGR, become the first entities to receive license from Albanian Financial Supervisory Authority to offer to local citizens direct access to collective investments in the EU.  

Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Albania is licensed by Albanian Financial Supervisory Authority to act as intermediary in the marketing of shares and units of foreign undertakings for collective investment in Albania by offering selected Luxembourg UCITS issued by Eurizon Capital S.A.

Albanian Financial Supervisory Authority has also approved the recognition for the management company Eurizon Capital S.A. and a few of its investment funds.

The launching event of this important achievement and opportunity for the Albanian investors titled “New Opportunities Open to Albanian Citizens for investments in collective mutual funds within the EU” was hosted in the Italian Ambassador Residence in Tirana with the participation of distinguished guests; H.E. Mr. Fabrizio Bucci, Italian Ambassador in Albania, Mr. Ervin Mete, Minister of Finance and Economy, Mrs. Delina Ibrahimaj, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship Protection, Mrs. Mimoza Kaçi, Acting Chief Director of Albanian Financial Supervisory Authority, Mr. Massimo Mazzini, Head of Marketing and Business Development at Eurizon, Mr. Alexander Resch, Head of Retail and Wealth Management of the Intesa Sanpaolo International Subsidiary Banks Division (ISBD), Mr. Alessandro D’Oria, CEO of Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Albania and representatives of the press. The event focused on the development of the Wealth Management in Albania by Intesa Sanpaolo Group which aims to provide local clients with investment opportunities to enlarge the range of products in their portfolio.
