Intesa Sanpaolo Group's Imprese Vincenti Program includes two Albanian enterprises, highlighting the role of Albanian businesses in driving growth and sustainable development.
In a rapidly evolving global market, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from Eastern Europe are increasingly recognized for their resilience, innovation, and growth potential. In the fifth edition of the Imprese Vincenti program, Intesa Sanpaolo has, for the first time, included outstanding foreign SMEs with strong ties to Italy, highlighting Albania’s importance in this network by selecting two prominent companies from the country – SEKA Hydropower and D Print. These companies were chosen for their significant impact in the fields of innovation and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) sustainability.
Focus on Albania: A Key Partner for Growth and Innovation
The selected Albanian businesses contribute actively to projects that support regional development and cooperation with Italian partners. With trade flows toward Italy valued at around €0.8 billion, Albania is becoming a key player in sectors like renewable energy and construction, enhancing its role in the broader European economic landscape.
SEKA Hydropower’s recent projects include significant investments in clean energy, such as building a hydropower plant with a capacity of 30 MW. Companies like SEKA Hydropower and D Print contribute to sustainable development, demonstrating Albanian SMEs’ commitment to green technologies and sustainable infrastructure.
Intesa Sanpaolo's Commitment to Supporting Eastern European SMEs
The Imprese Vincenti program by Intesa Sanpaolo aims to support SMEs that drive economic growth and foster international cooperation. Stefano Barrese, Head of the Banca dei Territori Division at Intesa Sanpaolo, stated: “These SMEs reflect the innovative spirit and flexibility needed to succeed in today’s global market.”
By helping establish strong partnerships between Albanian and Italian businesses, Intesa Sanpaolo plays a vital role in promoting economic stability and sustainable growth in the region. Through financing and strategic support, the bank encourages investments in projects that improve infrastructure and quality of life for local communities.
Looking to the Future
With its strong trade ties to Italy and a deep commitment to innovation, Albania is well-positioned to play an important role in the future of the European economy. Intesa Sanpaolo’s Imprese Vincenti program aims to strengthen these connections, helping Albanian businesses reach new heights in international markets and contribute to a more connected and sustainable economic environment.
