Maritime Economy in Albania:

Maritime Economy in Albania: A strategic sector for the country in the Mediterranean perspective was titled the co-organized activity by Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Albania AD and SRM Society, part of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, specializing in economic research with focus on marine economy and tourism in which a unique study on marine economy was presented. The event was greeted by Mr. Alessandro D'Oria – Ceo, Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Albania and SH. Mr. Fabrizzio Bucci – Ambassador of Italy to Albania.

The study analyzed the important role of the maritime economy sector, bringing a geostrategic view of the opportunities offered to Albania to be an important international factor in the field of maritime economy.

Study participants: Mr. Massimo Deandreis – Director General, SRM and Mr. Alessandro Panaro – Director of the Department of Marine Economy and Energy, SRM.

Participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the study findings and potential strategies for further development of the sector.

During the event was organized a panel with the participation of important actors operating in the field of the maritime economy who brought the perspective of their business/institution to this activity, thus enriching the conference with their valuable contribution.

Participants in the panel were:

• Mr. Genc Mataj General Executive Director, PELIKAN SHPK;
• Mr. Ahmet Kastrati, General Executive Director, Concessionary Management Company of Port of Durres MBM;
• Mr. Donjet Zeneli, Director of the Department of Finance, Durres Port Authority.
