Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Albania joined for the second consecutive year the successful international initiative of Intesa Sanpaolo Group & Savings Museum (Museo del Risparmio), Gallerie d’Italia & the Historical Archive to celebrate altogether the World Savings Day (31.10.2018).

From 24 October to 7 of November 2018 a wide national initiative is being organized through how Albania with the support of the Ministry of Education, involving 2000 students of elementary school, around 600 of secondary school & 280 from high schools, teaching them with informal education methods the importance of savings by practical examples. The initiative is supported by an interesting social media campaign.

Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Albania in cooperation with the Ministry of Education & Sports has undertaken the role of supporting the financial education among early ages & teens by offering voluntarily through its employees the role of instructors presenting three curricula (multimedia labs) prepared by the Museum of Savings[i] in Turin, dedicated to different age groups.

From 24 October till 7 November approximately 13% of our colleagues working at Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Albania are volunteering to teach in around 51 different schools throughout the country. Nearly 2000 kids aged 6-10 years old, around 600 kids aged between 11-14 years old, and around 280 teens will be part of this initiative, where bank employees share the basic concepts of saving and its importance in accomplishing dreams. They are engaged through games and quizzes aiming to familiarize them with the concept of personal finance management, identifying targets, categorizing them in time and create opportunities for an open discussion about basic financial concepts by working in teams.

Silvio Pedrazzi, CEO of Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Albania fully supported this initiative by emphasizing the active role of every bank employee as an ambassador to spread and raise awareness about the financial education and its importance in all layers of the society. “We remain eager to continue to promote financial education to ensure the financial inclusion. Only by undertaking concrete actions, we can facilitate the access of the new generations to services provided by the financial sector. Each of us has a role to play, and our 75 colleagues are giving the best personal example! The path toward achieving financial inclusion starts with financial education.”
